Another week of the NHL season has come and gone, but not without teaching us a few lessons along the way.
Here's a look back at some of the most exciting and/or strange events that caught the attention of hockey fans over the last seven days and what we learned from them.
1. Ryan Miller: Goalie or shortstop?
Jacob Markstrom may have helped end the Canucks' nine-game losing skid against the Rangers, but it was Miller who had the team's highlight of the week, channeling his inner Troy Tulowitzki with this diving stab.
2. This nickname is going to stick
The Patrik "Hat Trick" Laine moniker isn't going anywhere. The rookie leads the league with 11 goals so far this season after another three-goal effort against the Dallas Stars.
3. The Avalanche let teams beat themselves
While Laine represents the Jets' highest high, Nikolaj Ehlers probably felt lower than an unfinished basement after this overtime blunder against the Avalanche.
If you're experiencing some déjà vu, you're not the only one. That play not only happened to a team facing Colorado before, it happened in the same rink... and at the same spot on the ice.
Well, Jets fans, you can take solace in the fact that it wasn't a playoff game.
4. You can't beat Carey Price
No, really. It's the middle of November and the Canadiens starting goalie has yet to suffer a loss — in regulation or otherwise. His latest victims were the Detroit Red Wings, who threw 25 shots at Price only to see them all turned aside for his second shutout in 10 games played.
His biggest act of larceny came against the Kings' Anze Kopitar on Thursday.
Robbery, pure and simple.
5. Carey Price can't play every game
With the Habs' star goalie taking a break after Saturday's shutout win, Al Montoya was on the wrong end of what may be the prettiest goal of the season.
That goal by Patrick Kane also stood up as the winner as the Blackhawks handed the Canadiens a 3-2 loss.
