Toronto renews sports rivalry with Cleveland

lundi 10 octobre 2016

Once again, teams from Toronto and Cleveland meet in playoffs. Seems familiar, right?

This time, they're moving from the hardwood to the ballpark.

After the Cleveland Indians swept the Boston Red Sox in Game 3 of the ALDS, the team will meet the Toronto Blue Jays in the ALCS.

Five months earlier, the Toronto Raptors and Cleveland Cavaliers squared off in the NBA Eastern Conference finals in a gruelling six-game series.

A familiar Blue Jays slugger was even in attendance:

Unfortunately for Toronto fans, the Cavs won the series 3-2 en route to the franchise's first-ever championship.

It's now up to the Toronto Blue Jays to even out the playing field in the Cleveland rivalry.

The rivalry between the two cities has sparked online conversation:

Cleveland fans are confident that Toronto fans will be left upset and heartbroken once again.

One thing Toronto can only hope for is that LeBron James isn't in any way involved with the series.

The Cleveland Indians were quick to tell the world of their winning record.

But don't worry Toronto fans, it looks like the Blue Jays are all over it.

The Toronto Blue Jays will play the Cleveland Indians in Cleveland on Friday at 8:00 p.m. ET.
