There are two teams remaining in the wild card race – the San Francisco Giants and the St. Louis Cardinals – looking to lock down a date with the New York Mets.
Sunday's games: The Giants play the Dodgers while the Cardinals take on the Pirates.
What could happen?
Giants win, Cardinals win: Giants advance to face the Mets in New York on Wednesday.

Giants lose, Cardinals lose: Giants still advance to face Mets
Giants lose, Cardinals win: San Francisco and St. Louis play a one-game playoff on Monday to see who plays the Mets,
American League
Things are a lot less straight-forward in the AL, where the Toronto Blue Jays, Baltimore Orioles and Detroit Tigers are in action on Sunday looking to nail down a post-season spot with both wild card slots up for grabs. How do we complicate this further? Add another team to the mix!
Depending on Sunday's results, a rainout between the Tigers and Indians may need to be played on Monday.
Sunday's games: Blue Jays play the Red Sox, the Orioles play the Yankees, and the Tigers face the Braves.
What could happen?
If the Blue Jays win: they are the top wild card team, and host the wild card game in Toronto.
If the Orioles win: they are in the playoffs.
If the Tigers lose: they are eliminated – even if Toronto and Baltimore also drop their games.
If all three teams win: Tigers eliminated, Orioles face Blue Jays in Toronto on Tuesday.
If the Tigers win and other teams lose: Tigers must play make-up game against the Indians on Monday.
If the Tigers win on Sunday but lose Monday: Tigers eliminated.
If the Blue Jays win, Tigers win on Sunday and Monday, and the Orioles lose: Tigers face the Orioles in a one-game playoff in Baltimore for the right to face the Blue Jays in Toronto on Tuesday.
If the Orioles win, the Tigers win on Sunday and Monday, and the Blue Jays lose: Tigers face the Blue Jays in a one-game playoff in Toronto for the right to face the Orioles in Baltimore on Tuesday.
