Who would have thought one of the biggest moments in a wild-card game would involve a beer can?
But in the seventh inning of the Jays-Orioles game at the Rogers Centre Tuesday night, one fan threw a Bud Light at Orioles' Hyun Soo Kim as he tracked a fly ball.
It was reminiscent of last year's divisional series against the Texas Rangers, when unruly fans littered the field with beer cans in the infamous seventh inning, even dousing a mother and her baby.
One more out and #BlueJays fans will have the opportunity to again shower a baby with playoff beer. http://pic.twitter.com/XGWlSgcbgY

The baseball world was particularly unimpressed with this year's beer incident. When even frightmeister Stephen King thinks its horrible, you know it's a problem.
Hey, whatever happened to polite Canadians?
— @StephenKing
It was a beer can, not a water bottle. Still disgusting behaviour from a so-called fan. #Bluejays #Jays #Orioles

Whoever threw that beer can at Kim should be arrested for assault and banned from Rogers Centre for life. What an idiot. #Jays

Blue Jays playoff games are the best, but throwing a beer can at a player is unacceptable

While most are concerned about the integrity of the sport, others raise a fair and honest point:
That #Jays fan who threw the beer can at the player will be pissed when he realises the bar closed after the 6th! #WildCard #jaysvsorioles
