Protestors crash Ryan Lochte's Dancing with the Stars debut

The saga of Ryan Lochte continued Monday night on live television.

The embattled U.S. Olympic swimmer's debut on Dancing with the Stars was crashed by two audience members who were arrested for allegedly rushing the stage after Lochte's performance.

The two men, wearing anti-Lochte T-shirts, interrupted the show while Lochte was getting his scores from judge Carrie Ann Inaba for his debut performance with partner Cheryl Burke during Monday night's live installment of the celebrity ballroom dance competition.

The men were arrested on suspicion of criminal trespassing, Los Angeles police spokesman Officer Mike Lopez said.

Lopez said the two men were detained by security on the set until officers arrived to take them into custody. He did not have the men's names.

Lopez said no one was injured or listed as a victim in the incident.

"I was just in shock. I couldn't believe it was happening. I think it's a shame that people would feel the need to do that," dancer Lindsay Arnold told People. 

When the show returned, host Tom Bergeron said there was "a little incident" and thanked the ABC series' security team "for staying in shape."

Lochte told Bergeron that "so many feelings are going through my head right now" and added that he was "a little hurt, but I came out here. I wanted to do something I'm completely not comfortable with, and I did."

Lochte and three other American swimmers have faced criticism since they were involved in an early-morning drunken encounter during the Olympics last month at a gas station in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. They later claimed they were threatened and robbed.

Lochte was banned for 10 months from the U.S. swim team, required to forfeit $100,000 US in bonuses and will miss the 2017 world championships.
