3 is the magic number for Abdul Latif Romly

In the men's long jump T20 final, Abdul Latif Romly proved that records are meant to be broken...by him.

On his second attempt, the 19-year-old set a new world record of 7.47 metres, then broke it on his third attempt with a jump of 7.54.

Just for good measure, he broke his own world record for a third time on his fifth attempt by leaping a whopping 7.60.

In addition to breaking his own world record three times in the same day, he also earned Malaysia's third gold medal of these Paralympics. Prior to Rio, Malaysia had never won a gold medal at any Paralympic Games.
