Raptors start another run at the NBA crown

mercredi 26 octobre 2016

It's been 152 long days since the "Kings of the North" last took to the court for an official NBA game, but the wait is finally over with the season-opener Wednesday against the Detroit Pistons (7 p.m. ET).

After a historic 56-win season that saw the Toronto Raptors go all the way to the Eastern Conference final, the team seems poised for another memorable season.

Fans will be happy to see the return of some key players, including Jonas Valuncianus, Demarre Carroll and the continuing bromance between Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan.

While Lowry will be kicking off his 11th NBA season on Wednesday night, Norman Powell will get to shake off the rookie-season jitters and start his sophomore year in red and black.

The Raptors will also be welcoming newcomer Jared Sullinger into the fold, though he will miss the start of the season after undergoing foot surgery.

And with Halloween less than a week away, the Raptors seem to be getting in the spooky spirit by giving away 3D t-shirts to fans in attendance.

It has yet to be determined whether they are a "trick" or a "treat."

The Raptors aren't the only Toronto team with a big night ahead of them, though, as the Toronto FC host the Philadelphia Union in a knockout playoff game.

A win will give them a berth into the Eastern Conference final.
