Hoffman was assessed a major penalty for cross-checking and a game misconduct in the third period of the Senators' 4-3 shootout loss to the Sharks.
The suspension will cost Hoffman $57,639 US.
From the same game, San Jose's Marc-Edouard Vlasic was fined $5,000 for dangerous stick use against Erik Karlsson.
