Traditionally, Canada has a love/hate relationship with relay races, whether it's the bronze that was taken away at the 2012 London Olympics or the fortuitous disqualification for the United States that brought bronze to Canada at the Rio Olympics this summer.
But Saturday at the Paralympics, it was all love.

Let's start from the beginning:
In the original race, the transition between Curtis Thom of Mississauga, Ont. and Tristan Smyth of Maple Ridge, B.C. did not go smoothly. They were off with a roaring start in second place but an official made an error and placed Smyth in an outside lane causing Thom to veer off course and significantly slow Canada down.
Athletics Canada appealed the decision on the grounds that the official error caused the team to ultimately lose a medal.
So, Canada was 4th in T53-54 Relay but there is a protest. What would a relay be without one. #Athletics

The appeal was a success...
Official time for the re-race is 8:40pm Rio time, 7:40pm ET.

Of course the reasons were different in these cases but the result is the same: bronze for Team Canada once again.
